The organizations listed here are ones that have special meaning for us, and we feel that they are “too cute too” and worthy of your assistance. Some are other children’s organizations, and some are just ones that we love. If you enjoyed our “too cute” sponsor ads, be sure to read why we think these groups are too cute too.

Alaska Sudan Medical Project
I love my new home state of Alaska. The biggest reason why? The people here just never cease to amaze me. It’s not like it’s the easiest life, you don’t get to be called ‘a sourdough’ for nothing. Perhaps the long dark arctic winters are at the crux of their kindness, allowing the time to ponder what they could do to make the world a better place. Like Dr. Jill Seaman, she’s building a medical facility far across the world in Sudan with the help of fellow Alaskans. If that’s not too cute, I don’t know what is. Please click the link to learn more & donate today, even if you aren’t from Alaska! www.alaskasudan.org
American Red Cross
If you ever really want to feel needed on a regular basis, start donating your blood to the Red Cross! As soon as the waiting time expires to give blood again, a really friendly (too cute) voice will call you and ask if they can please have another pint of your precious A, B, AB, O blood again – they love all the types just the same. Too cute! Donating dollars is good too! When disaster strikes anywhere in the world, we all know that their simple red cross symbol means that help has arrived. www.redcross.org
Braille Institute of America
If you can read this paragraph, do you realize how lucky you are? Many can’t see well enough to do that, or to see anything at all. So, would you have just given up . . . or figured out an entire system of dots to read with your fingers? Mmm . . . what were you doing when you were fifteen? My main focus was learning how to drive a car . . . but in 1824, Louis Braille, a blind student in Paris, unveiled his 6-dot alphabet. Whoa! That is way too cute! About 100 years later, in 1919, the Braille Institute became the universal Braille press to distribute Braille literature to the world. www.brailleinstitute.org.
Starlight Children’s Foundation
Once upon a time, the girl whose name sounds kind of like trees was the consultant who helped these dear folks to create the original starry background for their computer presentations. You can still see that star-filled sky today – just click their web-link to see the updated version of it on their website. Sweet sigh! Question: what could be any cuter than that? Answer: clicking their link and making a much needed donation today. You’ll be too cute too! www.starlight.org
UNICEF
Established in 1946, there are many reasons why they are too cute, including the pretty items that you can purchase through them to help the young ones of the world. My favorite reason why they are too cute? I share the love of this organization with one of my favorite people of all time, Audrey Hepburn. In honor of her lovely memory, click their link and see how you can help them today. www.unicef.org
USO
This is truly the cutest USO story that there can be: in 1941, just like so many others, my dad signed up to join the Navy the day after Pearl Harbor. In 1945, he attended a USO dance before he shipped out overseas once again. The girl he fell madly in love with at first sight there? My mom. They never even danced but they did get to talk the next few days and he even met her parents. Then he wrote love letters to her for two whole years before he saw her again. So now you know that all of my poems and stories and even this list could have never been written if it weren’t for the USO. Teary-eyed are you? I warned you that this story was really cute! Go on now, go get yourself a Kleenex, dry your eyes so you can see clearly again, then click www.uso.org |
